Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers can be a great method to modernize your keys. You can choose from a wide range of styles and colors to find one that is most appropriate to your personal preferences. Installing them yourself is in ten minutes. You only need an electric screwdriver and a bit of patience. The first step is to remove the previous cover from your key. This has to be removed before the new cover can be fitted.
After removing the old cover after removing the old cover, you can make use of a flathead tool to remove the four main attachment clips out of the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red in the image below. Note fiat ducato replacement key locating tabs that must also be removed.
After taking the battery off, replace it with a brand new # CR2032 3 Volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob and the "-" side should be facing the rubber buttons.
Re-attach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you've done this, put the driver-side fob back into the vehicle and test it. Press the push button located at the top of the key. If everything works as it should your car should start to turn on the parking lights and your doors will lock automatically.

It is simple to change the battery by turning the switch one quarter turn with the small screwdriver flathead.
The key fob is equipped with a microchip in it that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert the key into your Fiat vehicle, it presses the ignition switch, which serves as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then read the transponder on the key fob in order to confirm that it's valid.
